What you'll get: one build makes up to four files — a print-ready PDF, light and dark screen-reading PDFs, and an EPUB3, yours to keep and read anywhere. Choose which in step 5; the page size and type size in step 3 shape the printed book.

Third translation (optional)

Add a second (and optional third) translation to build a parallel edition — every verse stacked line by line, translation by translation, the way the original engine did it. Up to three, on any trim. You can even pair Hebrew with a Latin translation (e.g. Norwegian or English alongside the Leningrad Codex): the Hebrew line reads right-to-left in a proper Hebrew font, the Latin lines left-to-right.

3Print page & type size

Print page size (trim) Shapes the print PDF

Sets the page of the print PDF — three standard sizes for any print shop. The two reading PDFs get their own screen page and type size in step 4, and the EPUB reflows to any device, so this size shapes the print PDF only. 7×10 pairs well with a larger type size.

7–14 pt. Sets the type in the print PDF — larger is easier to read, smaller fits more per page. The reading PDFs match this by default (give them their own size in step 4), and the EPUB is resizable in your reading app.

Layout Applies to every format — print, reading PDFs and EPUB Start each verse on its own line

Off by default: verses run together as flowing paragraphs, the way a printed Bible reads. On, each verse begins a new line — easier to follow when studying.

Page numbers are on by default, and that is what we recommend — a Bible you cannot cite a page in is hard to use, and the contents needs somewhere to point. Turn them off only for an unbroken reading page: the folio then goes from every page, the running book name moves to the centre, and the contents lists the books without page numbers or leaders.

These shape the print PDF only — the reading PDFs and the EPUB are unchanged. Tighter margins and tighter spacing mean fewer pages, which matters for a whole Bible: print-on-demand paper is thicker than real Bible paper and most binding tops out around 800 pages, so Ultra compact and tight pack a whole Bible into the fewest pages.

4Reading PDFs light & dark screen editions

These shape the light and dark reading PDFs — a page and type sized for a screen, chosen separately from the print page in step 3. They don’t change the print PDF, and the EPUB reflows to any device so it doesn’t apply there.

Pocket → 5×8. Phone → A5. Tablet or e-reader → Screen. Computer or printing at home → A4 (or US Letter in the US). Applies to both reading PDFs.

Set the reading PDFs’ type on its own, or leave it to match your print type size from step 3.

Accent colour Colours the reading PDFs and EPUB

Colours the contents page, chapter headings and verse numerals in the screen-reading PDFs and the EPUB.

Your print PDF is black and white by default — print shops bill a colour interior at several times the mono rate, so this stays off unless you ask for it. The screen-reading PDFs and the EPUB always use your colour.

5Files to build

All four are selected by default. Untick any you don’t need — building fewer files is quicker. You must keep at least one.

One build = one credit — whether you take one file or all four. Choosing fewer files does not cost less; choosing all four does not cost more.

PDF · Print — the page size you pick, with the binding gutter a print shop needs PDF · Read (light) — a screen-shaped page for reading on a phone, tablet or computer PDF · Read (dark) — the same screen page in dark mode, easy on the eyes in low light EPUB3 — no page size or trim — it reflows to any e-reader, and your reading app sets the text size

6Custom cover optional

Upload your own cover art and it becomes the front of your EPUB and the full-bleed first page of every PDF — the perfect way to gift a Bible to someone you love.

PNG or JPEG, at least 1800×2700 px for the 6x9 trim (300 dpi, print quality), up to 10 MB. Any shape works — an off-aspect image is centred and cropped to fill the page edge to edge.

7Preview or build

Preview is a free sample of up to three books — always the full set, so you can judge every file. Building spends one credit and produces the files you chose in step 5 — one build = one credit, whether that is one file or all four.
